Duty Cycle

Hi all,

Just wondering if someone could clarify this for me....

I have my WLC hard-coded to transmit on channels 1, 5, 9 & 13.

According to AirMagnet Spectrum XT channels 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 have a constant duty cycle of 100%.

My question is, will this affect only those 5 channels or will it affect any overlapping channels too?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Seeing duty cicles of 100% on channels 8-12 is certainly of concern, and because of the 22Mhz wide channels, it will certainly affect channels 9 and 13 as well.

Also what 100% duty cycle is, is that the device is transmitting 100% of the time. This doesn't mean it's taking 100% of the Chanel utilization. So check the channel utilization and that will tell you how much it will affect those channels.
