Factory reset Location Applicance

Guys,

i am trying to factory reset my location appliance from the serial.  the reason for this is that i down graded it last night and am having issues.

I notice that you can clear the config once you add it to WCS but i cant do this, gives me an error that either my username is incorrect or networking issues.

Am happy to reinstall the whole thing if need be.

Please help

Hi,

/opt/locserver/db/linux/server-end.db

Deleting this file, sets the Location appliance back to default from a database perspective (deletes any interaction that has been done through WCS).

There is also the initial config wizard :

/opt/locserver/setup/setup.sh

you can run it to reconfigure basic 2710 options.

In case of lost root password to appliance :

- Once the GRUB screen comes up, press Esc to enter the boot menu

- Press 'e' to edit

- Navigate to the line beginning with "kernel", and press 'e'

- At ehe end of the line put a space, followed by the text "init=/opt/locserver/setup/setup.sh"

- Press Enter to save this change.

- Press 'b' to begin booting

- The boot sequence will commence at the end of which the initial location appliance setup script will be run.

- The user may follow the instructions given by the script to change one or more location related parameters.

- At the end of the script, the user will be asked if they would like to reboot the machine

- Select yes, and let the machine reboot.

- Please note, that if the user only wishes to change the password, the pre-beringer recovery method will work as well.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

     thanks for your reply.

i didnt have that file:

[root@loc-server root]# /opt/locserver/db/linux/server-end.db
-bash: /opt/locserver/db/linux/server-end.db: No such file or directory

but did have a server-eng.db that i could delete.

in the end i uninstalled the server and reinstalled which has resolved my problem (After hours of fighting with it)

thanks again for your help.
