How many users will a WDS support

How many users will a WDS support when using a 1131 as a standalone WDS ap?  I know a total for 60 APs in a WDS but what about the clients?  I am guessing this is a MAC address limit?  Is it 512, 1024,2048 or what?  Thanks!

I know that on WLSM it is 6000 mobile nodes but i couldn't find the number for you on WDS AP.

WLSM support up to 300 access points

WDS support up to 60 access points

doing the math can maybe help on giving some indications

Thanks

Serge

That is better then the answer I got from my TAC case.

Answering your questions:

I need to know the maximum clients a WDS with a stand-alone AP (1131 with ios 12.4) will support.

There is no restrictions on number of clients that can associate to AP ( with or without WDS). AP can handle 15, 20 even 25 client and this is all dependent on application and how much bandwidth they need.

For example the supported voice clients number will be less than normal laptops.

The restriction here is how many infrastructure AP can register to WDS.

If radio enabled ->> 30 infra AP can register to WDS.

If radio disabled ->> 60 AP can register to WDS.

Also does the WDS require LEAP for the APs to authenticate to the WDS?

Yes , communication between AP and WDS require LEAP.

Please let me know if this answers your concerns.
