Hi.  You can do this manually on the WLC itself.

Try

config slot 0 disable "AP-Name-Here"
config 802.11-abgn role "AP-Name-Here" manual client-serving
config 802.11-abgn band ap "AP-Name-Here" 2.4GHz
config slot 0 enable "AP-Name-Here"

Regards,

Andy.

I do believe that once you follow Leo's guidance: Wireless > Advanced > RF Management > Flexible Radio Assignment

and select Disable, Since this is a Global command, the AP radios that are in the 5g mode will reset back to 2g.

In the auto mode the wlc only moves the radio from 2g to 5g if there is plenty of 2g coverage

also Wireless/Access Points/Radios/Dual-band Radios

will present you your list of 2800/3800 dual band modules..

mouse over to the blue down arrow and select ..  configure.

Radio role Assignment

typically Auto...  make it Manual/Client serving and band 2.4G.
