Hello

we are deploying some 9115axe access points. It should be AireOS CAPWAP but for some reason we will try to understand later, they came up with primary image AireOS 8.10.105 and backup image IOS-XE 16.12.2.132.

cisco C9115AXE-Z with 1906096/1224116K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID TSP2425ABBT
AP Running Image : 8.10.105.0
Primary Boot Image : 8.10.105.0
Backup Boot Image : 16.12.2.132
Primary Boot Image Hash:

Can someone please advise how to delete the IOS-XE backup image?

Thank you

Marcos

It really doesn’t matter for this. You can replace the images by uploading another version of code to the controller and pushing that image to the access points. New image pushes the primary image to the backup image and the new image from the controller moves to the primary image. So you can upload the image to the controller again even though it’s the same image and push that to the aps. I don’t think you need to worry about that. Eventually when you upgrade, the backup will be replaced with what you hav as the primary.

It would be really helpful if you can share any commands to find the backup  image in flash and delete it without the use of controller.
