Is it possible to set up WLC HA alerts? - using 5508 and 8510 WLC

Hey guys,

We have two WLC controllers in our envrionment and on a few occasions the HA has had to kick in. Some genuine issues and other occasions down to power cuts and lost connection etc. The problem is, we never know it's happened and can't seem to see any options for alerts to inform us... can anyone advise?

We use solarwinds for our monitoring and could configure a trap alert , but I can't see anything under the WLC trap logs related to HA.

Thanks.

Add the standby IP address of the Peer Redundancy Management into your monitoring solution. If that IP address is unreachable, your controller isn't working.

Either you need to have Prime to get alerts  or send WLC logs  to syslog server and extra from there, run some script to alert you.

What a great idea! - never thought of doing that. Thanks.
