LAP 1252 out of order in series

Hi,

I have 14 LAP 1252 that immediately gives me 3 solid red lights when I give them power.

By reading this thread: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11009731/1252-lap
I see that if we are still under warranty or with an associated contract the AP may be changed because of an hardware anomaly (it seems that just rebooting the AP when it has been up since a long time is enough to brick it).

However the AP (a total of 48 bought in 2010) are off warranty and our service contract is over since april 2013.

I asked my reseller about it and he doesn't want to do anything :-(.

We are scared of losing our remaining 34 AP, which would mean a big hole in our budget.

Did Cisco has a solution for this problem which is clearly a manufacturing defect?

Sincerly.

You can try and call Cisco to see if there is any lifetime warranty but it is unlikely as the AP model is so old.

If you want to save money you could always try and buy some second-hand (they are very cheap) or even something slightly higher like 1142 (depending on what your requirements are).
