Hi

Our customer is purchasing more medical xray devices which are Linux based and they want them on the WLAN.

These need to have a static IP address.

The issue is they haven't got Wireless NICs for these, they have to plug a router in.

So the linux system will get 1 IP address and the router will get another IP address.

I remember on the training course many moons ago this won't work as the WLC will block this.

I'm trying to find where this option is.

Has anyone got a solution for this, currently on 8.0.121

They're called CoW (Computer on Wheels).  But why router?  Can't the manufacturer plug a wireless USB stick in?

Unfortunately this isn't a COW,its a portable xray machine from Philips using custom Linux, has no drivers written for this USB WLAN NIC

Please define;

- Linux version, distribution

- USB WLAN NIC chipset on the XRAY machine.

It might easier to add possible solutions with that data.

As long as the router "routes", the WLC will the the router as a normal client and it should work without any problems.
Only thing to notice, if you need to access the xray machine over the network, you'll need to configure NAT on the router.
