Migrate from 4400 to 5760

Hi,

they are a old environment on wlc 4400 that need to migrate on new environment to 5760, in addition to the controller 4400 are hooked different models of access-point including some of these are not managed by the new controller 5760.

It is possible to integrate them between the two types of controllers to allow the passage on the same SSID from old access-point registered on the 4400 to the new access-point registered to 5760.
You might think of a mobility group common although I understand that between version 7.0 and version IOS XE there is no compatibility matrix.

Do you think there is an option to do it?
If instead it were running the deployment of the new infrastructure with 5760 setting up the same SSID on existing controller 4400 there could be problems for which the nee controller 5760 would identify the access-point controller 4400 as rogue
?

Help me

Best Regards

What APs do you currently run?

1240, 1260 and 3500 series

All the APs you've mentioned is supported up to 7.6.120.X.  So you can migrate all your APs to the newer 5760.

WLC 5760 runs IOS XE 3.x code, and only supports 802.11n and 802.11ac APs, so the 1240 series APs will not register to it. The 1260 and 3500 will register.
