mode reset failure on AIR-AP1220B

In trying to reset a serie of 10 AP's for re-use I have the problem that "mode button reset" does not work, in other words it does not clear any passwords.

This makes logging either over console or IP gui impossible.

Is there any known way to resolve this problem ?

Well, it is the procedure so not sure how you can do otherwise ...

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_password_recovery09186a00800949d0.shtml

Did you try that method on another model of AP just to make sure you were doing it right ?

Normally if you hold the MODE button and then put the power and keep the mode button pressed for some more you will see on the console "Mode button held for x seconds".

Do you see this kind of output ?

DId 20 other ones, all worked fine, though not all1220.

Tried turning off, pressing mode, turning on, wait for amber, no luck

Tried pressing button, turning off, maintain pressure, count 10, turn on, release

and a few variations as well

No console message, no reaction, no light changes,

just nothing, if it was one i would call it defect, but it is a full serie of 10 coming from one location.
