The issue now is that even though I was able to configure a static IP on the AP, it fails to retain the controller's IP address after the reboot and tries to send a broadcast looking for cisco-lwapp-controller or cisco-capwap-controller. So, in effect, when I first configured the AP with the static IP and the controller IP, it talked to the controller just fine and downloaded the required image. However, soon after the image downloads, it reboots and then it is unable to join the controller back on. This network segment is not serviced by a DNS server.
