SSC cert in WLC

Hi Everyone,

I have a question Im hoping you can help me out. Its regarding converting Autonomous AP to Lightweight APs and adding them to the WLC.

I know there is SSC sert to add with every AP1242 I convert and add to WLC, according to Cisco doc. But with 1262 I don't need to.  I Haven't tried 1252. Any idea if 1252 needs SSC cert in WLC?

I would appreciate your help!

Sincerely,

Dante

Hi,

"Cisco Aironet access points shipped before July 18, 2005 do not have a MIC, so these access points create an SSC when upgraded to operate in lightweight mode."

So just see when your 1252 came. My guess is that much after this date as it is a 802.11n Access point.

Regards

Dhiresh

Hi Dhiresh,

One quick question, would then the 1242 need the cert? How can you find out when the APs were shipped/created?

Thank you!
