Transferring adder AP licences from a failed to a replacement 2504 WLC

Hi,

I am receiving conflicting information on how to go about transferring adder AP licences from a failed to a replacement 2504 WLC.

From the Licensing Registration Portal (cisco.com/go/license) should I be selecting RMA or Rehost/Transfer ?

If I select 'rehost/transfer' it requires me to enter the Device Credentials of the failed WLC (which wouldn't be possible to obtain anymore)

I think I should be selecting 'RMA', but I won't be physically RMAing the failed device to Cisco, so I won't have an RMA# to provide.

I hope you guys can help.

Thanks

If this was an RMA, then the Cisco TAC engineer can do this for you because he/she can dig out the relevant information.

It's easy and you can do it.

You just need to add the old/failed device information (PID and S/N) and then select RMA.

After than you need to provide the new device information (PID and S/N) and next. RMA# is optional and you do not need to provide that information.

You will be prompted to download and receive by mail.
