Is your WCS version equal or higher than your WLC version?

Hi Scott,

  Thanks in advanced!

Follows the WCS and WLC versions:

WCS version : 7.0.172.0

WLC version: 6.0.202.0

Model: AIR-CT5508-k9

We have a situation which users have not been able to access the network and we suspect that is due a IP lack on the Vlan. As the APs are organized by AP group/Vlans, it is hard to see how can I better divide users in other Vlan  to solve it. Reports by floor area is not accurate in this case. We do believe that Reports by Vlan will point out where we need to change.

Your help will be very appreciated !

Thanks a lot.

Well if clients can't connect or if dhcp is unavailable, you will not see any of that info. You might want to upgrade to 7.0.235.5 which allows for interface groups. This way you can bundle subnets together and apply these bundled subnets to your ap groups. See the link below

Hi,

Upgrade the controller is not  possible right now but What I am referring to is that on the WCS 7 I  have this options under  : Client > Client Sessions >Client  Sessions Report Detail

-Controller

-Floor Area

-Outdoor Area

-AP by Floor Area

-AP by Outdoor Area

-AP by RAP Mesh Role

and on WCS 6 shown on this video:

Creating Reports (Overview), Cisco WCS 6.0 (June 11, 2009)

We can see three more option:

–VLAN

–Client MAC Address

–Client Username

That´s my question. Why I can´t see that ?

By Vlan whould  be a great repots for us !

Thanks.

Are you AP's in local mode?

Thanks,

Scott
