Hi,
One of my customers has requested for a wireless solution for a production area in a factory .Actually there are 400 locally customized (automatic) devices needs wireless connections to share some small files (approx 80kb per file) data to be shared will be very light through the wireless network , premises area is 50*35 meters (fully open area) so i suggested four 1702i access points for them , coverage is perfect with four access points but my question is , is it enough four access points for this solution ? what is the maximums client count can recommend per 1702i AP ? If I increase AP's, will the channels overlap?

Hi Rajitha,
Usually AP radio can support up to 200 clients, but we should not design network using that value. In typical office environment (data use) 20-25 is a good number when designing.
In your case I would consider around 50 devices per radio for planning considering the low data use. If those clients are all connecting one band (5GHz) I would consider adding couple of more AP from capacity perspective. From coverage perspective, try to control power to adjust the cell size.
Since it is open space, you need to ensure not channel reuse to avoid CCI (so in 2.4GHz, may be need to turn off few AP radios).
Here are the number comparison for few AP models

What do they mean by 128 for client link ?
04-13-2017 02:03 AM
Have a look at the base theory first:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/aironet-1130-ag-series/white_paper_c11-516389.html
and here about the version included in the latest APs:
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/global/de_de/products/wireless/at_a_glance_c45-691984.pdf
It is recommended to have this always enabled.

Hi Rasika,
It is usefull info. BTW, how to rate your response?
I have problem as below:
My office is using a Wifi Access Point: Cisco Aironet 2602E-E-K9 ceiling mount at center of the office about 12 m x 25 m square, number of connected wifi laptop+cell phone wifi about 60 units.
It power using PoE which connected to Ethernet Switch Aruba 2530-48G J9772A port (this switch provide PoE+).
We meet problem: sometime the Access Point restart unattently.
As your experience, can you give advice about all posible reason of this matter. How to fix this problem. Here is the evvent log I get from the Access Point:

Please create a new thread for this and also include the software version of the controller or (if autonomous) the access point.

Sorry that my post is meet this trouble: "Your submission has triggered the spam filter and will not be accepted. If you feel this is in error, please report that you are blocked.". Is it possbble, pls post this issue for me.
If you have any clue, pls give advice.
My AP is in autonomous mode. Software version as below:
System Software Version: Cisco IOS Software |

There is slightly newer software available 15.3(3)JD4, but the release notes don't note anything sounding like a crash fix.
There was a command to show the crashlog or dump file, but I don't remember it. That one often states why it crashed.
Also a "show version" might show a little bit more (reload reason ....).
04-13-2017 12:48 AM
I run "show version" but "reload reason" area is blank.
Please try to find out how to view crashlog/dump file. Thanks a lot.
Thang.

Found it. If it rebooted because of a crash, you should find the info by issuing "show crash". If it tells you that there is no crash file, then it either didn't crash or was unable to write a file.
Have you checked on your switch if it maybe looses the power? Because a blank reload reason could be a short power interruption.

This is the output of "show crash":

How to translate these information to human understand?
My Access Point is powered by PoE via ethernet cable connected to Ethernet Switch Aruba 2530-48G J9772A fully support PoE+ . Is it possible this PoE+unreliable? If so, how to check this PoE+ source?
Many thanks,
Thang.
