What is Cisco best practice for RRM running between four WiSMs (8 * WLC).

Campus has 800+ LWAPs

Please advise.

You might want to consider disabling automatic RRM and performing planned, regular updates.  The Cisco default is to perform RRM evaluations every 10 minutes, and I've seen this disrupt clients.  This obviously is what allows automatic RRM adjustments in the event of an AP failure though, so it's a trade-off and you might only want to do this if you suspect there are problems related to it.  Just something to keep an eye out for.

As for whether to hard-code channels and/or power, that depends on your management style.  We hard-code channels for peace-of-mind, but the internal algorithms are really pretty good so there's nothing wrong with doing that.  I would at least leave the power to be automatically determined, since the wireless environment changes regularly and changing power levels is a good way to deal with that,

Jeff
