Hi all I want to ask some questions: I'mexperiencing these serious problem: when i place a voip call with E66 the voice is seriously chopped.

With 7921 the voice is ok.

I'm using: WLC 4402 (vers 4.2.207.0) nokia Call Connector 1.60 on nokia e66, UCM 6.1. I used the same configuration of the WLAN of 7921 as QoS and other specification.

The encryption is WPA (I tried with CCKM+tkip+LEAP as the 7921 work but i have also LEAP authentication problem but is not the most important thing now).

I don't know what to do.

Can somebody help me?

Thanks for your support

Hello,

This is known CAC related issue in E66 and E71 firmware. This has been fixed in PR3 firmware release. If PR3 is not available then workaround is disable CAC in wlan infra.

Br,

Pasi

so i updated my nokia at version 300.21.012, but i the end user can't upgrade nokia i have to disable CAC?

The problem is that i have also 7921, how can i sove the problem?

Thanks

Hello,

So did you upgrade your Nokia to 300.21.012?

You can choose, disable CAC or upgrade your Nokia to 300.21.012.

-Pasi-

I will try to disable CAC.

But an other question: in the same WLAN infrastucture i have to use also 7921. CAC is needed for 7921, disabling the CAC can have some impact on 7921?

I can't find a design guide for nokia e series wireless. there is any guide on the cisco site?

When i try to disable CAC i will inform you about the results of the tests.

Hi,

I'm not sure what will happen for 7921 if you disable CAC.

You can download the guide from:

http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com/nokia_intellisync_call_connect_for_cisco_downloads.php

Nokia Eseries Deployment Guide v1.1.1

-Pasi-

thanks, i will try to disable CAC.

There is a configuration guide for WLC4402.

Thanks

Hi Pasi,

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

Do you know what are the new features or advantages that 2.0 will bring?

Will be possible to upgrade from 1.1.3 to 2.0 for free?

Thanks

BR

MC

Hi all,

I want to upgrade my situation.

I tried to disable CAC and the situation is not better.

I tried with pone nokia with firmware 300.xx and it seems to work better, I'm still having serious problem in roaming and conversation between nokia and 7921.

Any ideas how to solve the problem..

thanks

Hi,

So you disabled CAC and also upgraded to PR3?

If so, then you could try to disable 802.11b from your network.

Do you have same problems with Nokia<->Nokia calls or Nokia<->Other Cisco phones? Or is it just Nokia<->7921 problem?

Have you used any other Nokia phone?

-Pasi-

Hi,

I upgraded to PR3 only my personal Phone and i made the tests with my e66.

I disabled the 802.11b network.

The problem is very evident when i place a call nokia<->7921.

calls nokia<->other cisco phone (non wifi) is acceptable but not very good.

If I make a call using nokia<->PSTN lines is ok (It is quite like other phone).

If I disable CAC the situation is the same

I don't know if it is a roaming problem or other problems.

Thanks

Hi,

I have your same problem.

I noticed that if I put my nokia in a wlan with no platinum QoS things are better but still not acceptable.

Actually I use WPA + CCKM (so the best authentication suggested by cisco) but the issues is not on security.

802.1x, static WEP or WPA-PSK don't show any worsening or improvement of the voice quality.

only setting QoS to silver show a sensible but not acceptable improvement.
