WLC 2106 comes up after rebooting

Hello.

I have installed a wlc2106 (ver 6.0.199.4).Everything was working fine until today...

Wlc seems that looses connectivity with core switch (3750).That time i couldn't ping the management ip and i couldn't see it with cdp.

After rebooting the controller the connectivity came up.The same situation was repeated after 30 minutes.

I have attach the logs.

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried accessing the WLC using console at the time you see the issue?

Please paste the output of  switchport config from the 3750 port where the WLC is connected? Also make sure that the switchport is set for speed/duplex as auto/auto... also, only one port from the switch should be connected to the WLC

thanks.

The logs that i have attached are from wlc console.I don't have any strange log from sw3750.

The config is : switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

                     switchport trunk allowed vlan x x x

                     speed 100

                     duplex full

Thanks..

Hi,

please configugure the Native VLAN on the Switchport and on the WLC please untag the management interface and see if that helps..

that is..

on the switchport..

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan x x x

switchport trunk native vlan X (X = same subnet ip of the Management int on the WLC)

speed 100

duplex full

on the WLC..

config interface vlan management 0

lemme know if this resolves the issue..

Hi,

WLC port and the switchport will auto negotiate the speed/duplex...You need not hard code speed/duplex on the switchport...You may try resetting

the switchport to defaults and configuring it again..for example,

(config)# default interface

(config)#int <>

(config-if)#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

(config-if)#switchport trunk allowed vlan x x x
(config-if)#switchport mode trunk

No need to set the native vlan on the switchport side if you have the tagging on the controller
management interface...
Once you make the above changes, reboot the WLC.

Thanks,
