We are going to upgrade WLC ap licese.

Could someone please guide me to the required steps.

if you are using 2504/5508/8510 or older models then there is no smart licensing available.

For the above mentioned products ...here are the steps to upgrade:

I think you are using the 2504 WLC as HA controller(secondary). If your primary will be down then seconadry will takeover.
