Adding generic H.264 source - possible?

Hi.

In a larger setup, we get often the question if it's possible to add a generic H.264 video source stream. This would be great to have it in an existing matrix besides the usual cameras.This to monitor maybe a certain equipment.

Does anybody have an idea how to integrate such a stream?

Hi Danny,

The VSM media server can only connect to and obtain video from a source for which it has a software driver for.  Therefore, the media server can only get the H.264 source from the supported cameras and encoders.  You can view the supported devices at the URL on your media server:

http:///doc/BMS/source_types.html

Thanks for your answer. I am aware, that only either encoders or cameras are supported.

But I have in my deeper inner area of my brain something remembered, that in earlier version, a generic driver was around. This is gone?
