We have two ASA 5555-X(act and stby) and looks like CPU temperature is higher than normal.

I am wondering if the temperatures below are normal...

Is this a problem- I have a similar situation- you have 35C input or 95F- seems hot.

I concur with jhfuchsIBM.

Your ambient temperatures are getting too high.  In fact, they are near the upper limit for the hardware specifications of the equipment:

-5°C to 40°C
(23°F to 104°F)

The specs are not very specific, but I think the 0-40 degrees is the surroundings of the device. Our firewall goes up to 78 degrees on the processor (and stays around 40 on Ambiet temp). So, if the room goes above 40 degrees, the firewall will shutdown.  And you cannot restart it until manually reseating the power supplies.

I agree with Bruce here, 0-40 degrees refers to the ambient room temperature not the temp related to ASA components like the CPU, which will run hotter than the temp in the datacenter air.

We have several ASA all running around 60-65 degrees depending on the load on each one. Based on your output everything looks normal to me. The warning/critical limits for CPU temp are 80/90 degrees respectively and 55/60 for chassis and power supply components.

This device runs a Xeon X3460 CPU. The max temperature for this, according to the Intel spec sheet is 72.7C. So, 60C seems OK, but without a lot of "headroom"

It seems the ambient temperature is kinda warm though, placing it in an air conditioned room would probably mean slower fans, less noise, and cooler temps.

If the device has been in service for a while, and in a dusty environment, you might consider taking the lid off and blowing out any accumulated dirt that could be blocking cooling. It takes a LOT of dirt to do that, but if there is a heap of dust, you may make a slight improvement cleaning it out.
