Good Day Everyone
We are currently porting over our current bosch CCTV system to VSM and have had a problem regarding the bosch VipX1 XF encoder and the MIC-400/412/500 range camera. Eventhough we add the cameras using the cisco 4-port encoders, it seems we still have limited capabilities, there is no Onvif option when adding the camera either. Regarding the vipx encoders, we have some in the field but it seems that they are not supported. Has anyone had a similar install with success?
We are running the latest VSM from cisco
Camera and all encoders have been updated to the latest firmware, both bosch and cisco.
Thanks

Yeah, your best bet will be engaging with Cisco TAC for sure. You might be able to experiment with sending custom PTZ controls/serial commands via the *native* GUI on the CIVS-SENC-4P itself. If you have success from there, there *might* be a way to integrate what you need all the way through the VSM suite in one way or another... although it may take some custom development with the VSM API. Sounds like a fun challenge actually.
All the best with whatever you decide!

With respect to the analogue cameras you have connect to the CIVS-SENC-4P encoders, what exactly are you referring to by 'limited capabilities'?
As for the Bosch encoders, I'm not sure what to tell you. Chances are you may not be able to get them to work with VSM at all. Cisco *does* offer the capability to have a driver created for a specific 3rd Party device, but there is cost associated with this R&D.

Hi Scott thanks for the reply. I have connected the camera to the cisco 4 port enc. Thus far I have basic PTZ control, what I am looking to do is use the built-in pre-sets for the camera, with regards to the Bosch Mic 500 range camera, I need image flip, axis invert, wiper & washer active/inactive, etc.
Things like OSD menu and such for addressing is also needed.
Not sure if there is a way to send custom commands or if we have to contact cisco for custom drivers as you mentioned?

We will start playing around with the controls/commands and have a look what we can get out if the system. Will keep you guys updated.
Thanks again for the reply

Glad I was of assistance. We'd all love to hear the results of any testing you've tried with the PTZ integration.
Cheers!
