Every time I try to open the CPAM client, I get the error: Application client already connected to server from this location
I have found this error posted here https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCtj80312/?referring_site=bugquickviewclick but the suggestions there don't work. I have looked for the javaw.exe process but it is not running. I then rebooted the computer and still getting the error.
The version of the client is 1.5.1.

I recently ran into this error on a Windows 10 machine. Rebooted, stopped services, etc. I right clicked on the icon and selected Run as Administrator. Opened without error. Did the same install on the same hardware and OS and had no issues. It was only on this one machine.

Thanks for your reply Athena, however I tried this and it didn't work.
I worked out that the problem was only occurring when you tried to open the software using a different account than was used to install it. The problem being that the account that would be used to open the software was not an admin account and installing it while logged into that account but using the 'Run as a Different User' option didn't work either. I got round it by temporarily giving the account admin rights, installing the software, then removing admin rights after.

This happens in our environment all of the time. The workaround we use is to navigate to the CPAM folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\CPAM" and give all users(we do local and domain) full control of this folder.
One thing to note about CPAM is only one person can be logged on the same computer/server. We tried deploying CPAM in our RDS environment and found only one person per server can log into CPAM and others trying to log in would get the aforementioned error.
