I would like to add the maps service to my Cisco VSOM 7.6 server, but I don't see the option there. I look at other servers and I can see the option to make them the maps server (Co-Located maps server) but I do not see the options to enable the maps service on my VSOM. I only have one VSOM and multiple VSM (media) servers. Any ideas?

Hey Kris,
What OS is running on your VSOM server? Something tells me it's not RHEL 6.4 64bit... which is apparently a requirement.

Did you mean you are not able to enable/checked the MAP server options? I am assuming this VSOM where you can MAP server too along with or just a standalone.

Well, it would appear this is your issue then :-S You may need to rebuild the box with
As your environment is virtualized, I can't see why you couldn't stand up a new server image, then perform a backup on the old, take it offline, then perform a restore on the new one (with RHEL 6.4 underneath). Haven't moved between OS versions, but I certainly think it should be possible.
Any Cisco reps out there that could confirm for Kris?
Cheers!

So would it be a better option be to just spin up a dedicated maps server then, version 7.6.0 like my current? I do not want to rebuild the VSOM server. After labbing up I realized it can only be co-located with VSOM and not VSM. This means either I rebuild VSOM with RHEL 6.4 or I just standup a dedicated maps server. I think the latter is the best. How could I have gotten to 7.6.0 on RHEL 5.8? Was it upgraded from an older version?
