Cisco VSOM Licensing Issue

Hi Guys,

My customer wanted to add 5 more Axis Cameras so they recently purchased L-CPS-VSM7-1CAM licenses and they are planning to add to Cisco VSM.

However, when the licenses are added into VSM, looks like all the licenses are going towards the existing cameras. Making them unable to add the new Axis cameras.

Cisco VSM by default allows 10 third party cameras to be used without a need for license. Is this true? If yes, why does the licenses are going towards the existing cameras?

Regards,

Edwin

I'm sure this is probably covered in some obscure note in the VSOM Guide somewhere, but it's likely not too prominent.  It's by design!  Super awesome, eh?

So yeah, what you are seeing is how Cisco has arranged the licensing.  Apparently, you can use the 'free' licenses up to the limit of 10... unless you want to exceed that with 3rd Party HW, at which point, you need to license *ALL* 3rd Party and anything that was previously free goes away :-/
