password recovery process for adding a local user to cisco 2911 router

we recently had our Cisco 2911 wiped by our agency and were given a base configuration to load on our cisco 2911.  Unfortunately I did not notice at the time that aaa authentication was enabled as the default  login.  I wrote the configuration and now have no access to the router as there were no local users added to the configuration. If I perform a password recovery process on the router will I have the ability to add a local user and disable the aaa authentication in the process ?

 Hi there,

The password recovery process essentially prevents the saved startup-config from being loaded at boot up. This will allow you to configure a day-0 config. You can optionally save a copy of the startup config (before you wr mem) and either copy it to running or pluck elements of it and add it to your new config.

cheers,

Seb.
