VSM 6.3.X add new Camera Type

Hi,

I am unable to add a new camera type in VSM 6.3.1. I updated the axis driver pack to dp_axis-1.3-919d from the VSMS but the supported IP Cameras are not showing when I try to add IP Camera.

Can anyone support me on this? Is there a procedure that I am not following?

Thank you.

Which specific camera model are you attempting to add?

I am trying to add Axis P5534-E.

Where exactly was the source of this driver pack?  It appears as though it hasn't established the proper database entries to driver mappings?

It appears Cisco has begun removing many pre-7.0 things from the online portals.

This driver pack did not come with VSM 6.3.1 rather it is an upgrade driver pack. One of my customer is already running this pack successfully in their other sites with VSM 6.3.1.

Now, I am trying to install this driver pack with VSM 6.3.1 in one of the new site deployment but it is not showing up in Camera Type. You can check the attached snapshots for the sites showing the driver and the other sites in which even after the installation the driver is not available.

If you can guide towards upgrading driver pack in VSM 6.3.1 that would be great as I can't seem to find where am I going wrong.

Thanks.

Just a guess... Have the services been restarted since adding the driver pack?  Perhaps VSOM or the UI isn't "aware" of the new camera model -> driver mappings yet?

Yes, I did restart the services. I even reboot server many times.

Unfortuantely, I don't have the driver pack to test with, so you may have to check with TAC :-S

What cameras are you specifically trying to add?

You might have to open a TAC case with us like Scott said. It would be very helpful to view your support reports instead of guessing at the root cause. Do not upload the support report to this forum

How did you upgrade the driver pack for your VSM?

Gain command line access

1.You need to upload driver zip first to the server

2.Extract the driver zip file

# unzip .zip -d /usr/BWhttpd/dpacks/

3.Unistall the running drivers

# /usr/BWhttpd/bin/imsdev uninstall dp_axis-xxx  (previous version currently installed)

4. Now install the new driver pack

# /usr/BWhttpd/bin/imsdev install dp_axis-1.3-919d

5. Restart services

# /etc/init.d/cisco restart

If you run into an upload error let me know and there is something else we need to change
