VSOM 6.3.2 NTP returns code 5 (ERROR)

Hello,

i have a problem with the NTP Client from VSOM 6.3.2.

The server lose the time after a reboot. When i start the NTP-Client manuel, than the time is correct.

start NTP-Client:

/etc/init.d/ntp start

When i use the command "ntptime", i get the following output.

TEST:/var/lib/ntp # ntptime

ntp_gettime() returns code 5 (ERROR)

I've always used YAST from the command line then setup NTP under the Network Services option on the left menu.  Works for VSMS as well.  Just type 'yast' at the command prompt after you SSH/telnet to the box.

Have you ensured the servers hardware clock is synced to the system clock?

hwclock --systohc (I believe).

You can check the difference between the two with;

date

or

date -u

and

hwclock

Maybe I'm just reading the above wrong, but is the time delta simply too large?
