Cisco ISE - VM Cannot reset admin password

Dear All

At a customer ISE Installation (ise-2.2.0.470.SPA.x86_64.iso) we have to reset the admin password. It is a virtual ISE installation. So I tried to reset the Admin Password (CLI):

1.) connect ISO-Image

2.) "Recover Administrator Password"

3.) Select admin

4.) Reset admin pw

But it is still not possible to access via CLI nor GUI. I tried it a few times.

Does anybody have the same issue?

Thanks for asking.

I can resett the admin password but still not able to login with cli nor web-gui.

Did you have this experience too? I did it a few times with different passwords.

Dear all

I built a lab in my own environment with the same ISO-File (ise-2.2.0.470.SPA.x86_64.iso) and I have the same Issue. I cannot reset the admin password (CLI).

Attached are the steps as a printscreen.

Does anybody has the same issue with same or different  Version? Has anybody the possibility to try it in a lab environment as well?

It seems to be a bug. At the moment there is no workaround.

Yes, the bug is an exact match.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround.

We need to do a fresh installation to recover from this issue.

Hi,

I have the same issue.

ISE installation is from ISE-2.3.0.298-virtual-SNS3515-600.ova.

When I applied patch1, ISE reloads and after that I was not able to login in with admin account.

I tried to reset the Admin Password (CLI) with ise-2.3.0.298.SPA.x86_64.iso several times without success.

So Im locked out from CLI now.
