Cisco NAC Agent problems in Win8.1 Pro (ISE 2.1 Deploy)

Hi all,

I have a ISE deployment with posture validation that works fine but i have a problem with the Cisco NAC Agent Installed on windows 8.1 professional machines (64bit). The wired 802.1x authentication works fine, the endpoint is authenticated successfully and the Cisco NAC Agent is launched and make the posture validation, after that, the cisco NAC Agent is auto closed but when the end user starts to work in the end point, some process related with the Cisco NAC Agent is launched or activated continuosly and does not allow to work to the end user (the active window is continuously deactivated or is set on background).

The issue is solved when the end user closes the Cisco NAC Agent from the windows system tray or close the process from the task manager.

I have a Cisco ISE 1.2.1.198 deployment
I tested with Cisco NAC Agent 4.9.4.3 and 4.9.5.7

In others machines (Win 7) the deployment is working without problems.

Someone knows about this issue?

Thanks

I dont see windows 8.1 in ISE 1.2 compatibility matrix but instead in 1.3 and 1.4

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/1-2/compatibility/ise_sdt.html#pgfId-93467

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/1-4/compatibility/ise_sdt.html

Hi Venkatesh, thanks for the reply, but the win 8.1 compatibility was introduced in a patch for ISE version 1.2.0:

"Support for Windows 8.1 and Mac OS X 10.9 in Cisco ISE Version 1.2.0.899—Cumulative Patch 3"

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/1-2/release_notes/ise12_rn.html#pgfId-435174

I think that for version 2 is also supported with a patch.

I have a Service Request with Cisco TAC and apparently there is a bug (CSCur80641). I need confirm this.

Hi All,

Currently we are using ISE 1.4 with dot1x (machine & user authentication) and posturing.

We are using Cisco NAC agent 4.9.5.8 for all windows machines.

This works all well with windows 7 after authentication nac agent pops up properly and checks for the posture. But in windows 10 machine its stucking in machine authentication only it’s not going forward for Posture check and NAC agent not popping for the same.

Can anyone face this issue with Windows 10 machine?

Thanks in advance
