ISE 2.0 Server Backup Issue

Hi Guys

I am trying to set up at TFTP backup on an ISE 2.0 , but the TFTP entry does not appear in the list of repositories after i configure it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I've also been having problems with FTP backups. The repository is configured and looks heathy. The backup starts, runs for 5 mins while progressively getting to 80% and then fails. The logs just report that it failed so i dont know why it did.

Any suggestions?

You will want to confirm that the user that's configured for the repository has write privileges on the FTP server.

TFTP repositories cannot be used for backups, as they are limited to 32MB files.

For the FTP backup, are you able to view the content of the repository? From the CLI, use this command:

# show repository <repo name>

If it errors out, you will need to troubleshoot that first (could be credentials, directory path, etc.). If you can view it, we'll need to troubleshoot further.

The FTP repository looks fine and displays the correct directory structure:

GLS-ISE-01/admin# show repository tftp
% Repository not found
GLS-ISE-01/admin# show repository ftp
% Repository not found
GLS-ISE-01/admin# show repository MK_FTP
% Error reading directory on remote server
GLS-ISE-01/admin# show repository MK_FTP
GNS3-1.3.13-all-in-one.exe
GNS3-1.4.6-all-in-one.exe
hotfix2
ISE
old
robocopy.txt
secure.intermediaries.tescobank.com.pfx
test.aspx
VBoxGuestAdditions_5.0.16.iso
VirtualBox-5.0.20-106931-Win.exe
GLS-ISE-01/admin# backup ?
<WORD> Backup name (no extension) (Max Size - 100)

However, the backup still fails in ISE:

Backup Failed : Server=GLS-ISE-01; Message=Backup failed: copy Backup220716_op-CFG10-160722-1036 out to repository MK_FTP failed

You will want to confirm that the user that's configured for the repository has write privileges on the FTP server.
