ISE and SMS gateway integration, error when sending test message

Hi Experts,

I have configured to send SMS to guest post registration. The SMS gateway is configured to send the message using HTTP with post method.

But, when the user completes his registration, he does not receive any SMS.

Even though when I try using the URL from the browser, replacing variables, I am able to get the SMS (thus SMS gateway is working fine).

But, when testing from, Administration -> Guest Access -> Portals and Components -> Guest Portals -> Self-Registered Guest Portal (default) -> Portal Page Customization

Scroll down to Notifications -> SMS

From the preview selected Settings, in Send Test Message entered number and click for send

Got the following error message:

Am I missing anything on the configuration?

Make sure a simple test goes out via one of the included SMTP providers. If this works then next you will have to do a trace with provider and possibly TAC to figure out

Are you using one of the providers know to work listed under the sms section on http://cs.co/ise-guest ?

Hi Jason,

I was able to resolve the issue with the integration.

It turned out to be a configuration issue, I followed all the suggestion provided here in this Document

Did you try a test to see if ise has internet access?

Try using built in att Verizon service if you have a phone with one of the and see how that goes out via SMTP

also example configs of known working providers at http://cs.co/ise-guest

Yes, this is a test ISE instance. And it does have internet access.

If it did not have any internet, would a port 80 will also help?

I cannot use the SMTP, since the SMS provider has only provided the http URL for this SMS gateway configuration.

After some digging around, I have added these following parameters in the SMS gateway configuration as below:

After these changes, the error does not show up, as I can see that success message for SMS sent.

But, then I am not receiving any SMS either!!

You can turn guestaccess to TRACE in the logs to look at what’s happening as well
