I'm putting my ssh configuration on a cisco 3850 switch IOS is 03.03.02SE…………….but when  put in the following command?

  • radius-server host server-1 auth-port 1645 acct-port 1646 key XXXXXXXXXX

it get this notification:

Switch(config)#radius-server host server-1 auth-port 1645 acct-port 1646 key 123456

Warning: The CLI will be deprecated soon

'radius-server host server-1 auth-port 1645 acct-port 1646 key 123456'

Please move to 'radius server <name>' CLI.

What does this mean?..............and what is the correct way for me to put this command in?....

It indicates the newer IOS version would not support that command , new command would be " radius server name "

just to share:

  • If you have configured an IPv4 RADIUS server, you can use either the radius-server host command or the radius server name command.
  • If you have configured an IPv6 RADIUS server, use the radius server name command.
