Wireless and wired at the same time

Say my client is connected to wireless network, and then I plug it in wired network. Both are controlled by ISE. Both will appear in ISE with different mac addresses. Am I going to burn two licenses in this case? What do folks usually do to overcome this?

Yes, it will count as two devices in your base license. I usually use Cisco AnyConnect NAM for this, as it can be set to shut down the wifi, if it gets connection on the wired.

Licensing is trust basis. Shouldn't affect you. It's not great but Cisco don't do a lot of the licensing side well. Until Cisco sort that and enforce the licensing you will be fine.

The very worst they could try not to support you when you raise a case, but you have a very good explanation for the problem, so should be cleared up very quickly.
