Can RV042G and Azure VPN gateway set up the VPN site-to-site?

Hi Guru,

I tried to establish the site-to-site VPN with Azure VPN gateway through Cisco RV042G VPN router today, but it didn't work.

According to the VPN setup guideline from Azure VPN gateway end, it required IKEv2 to run. However, the RV042G only support s IKE instead of IKEv2.

Can you help me out to find a way of making the VPN setup with Azure through the RV042G?

The guideline I received from the peer is as follows:

**

! At Azure VPN gateway
! > Public IP addresses:
! + Public IP 1: 100.100.100.100 /* not real one but example
! > Virtual network address space:
! + CIDR: 10.30.1.64/26
! - Prefix: 10.30.1.64
! - Netmask: 255.255.255.192
!
!
! At Remote VPN
! > On-premises VPN IP: 200.200.200.200 /* not real one but example
! > On-premises address prefixes:
! + CIDR: 10.27.88.0/24
! - Prefix: 10.27.88.0
! - Netmask: 255.255.255.0
! - Wildcard: 0.0.0.255
!
! [2] IPsec/IKE parameters
!
! > IKE version: IKEv2
! + Encryption algorithm: aes-cbc-256
! + Integrityalgorithm: sha1
! + Diffie-Hellman group: 2
! + SA lifetime (seconds): 3600
! + Pre-shared key: @lushcheetah89!
! + UsePolicyBasedTS: False
!
! > IPsec
! + Encryption algorithm: esp-gcm 256
! + Integrity algorithm:
! + PFS Group: none
! + SA lifetime (seconds): 3600
!

**

Especially, how can I apply the IPSec/IKE parameters above into the Cisco RV042G router?

Thanks for your attention and support in advance.

Tom

Hi,

That not be possible. This model not support ikev2. Same mentioned in below thread. You need some device/vpn termination end which supports ikev2.

I still wonder if the Azure VPN gateway can support IKE instead of IKEv2 to be connected with RV042G ..
