Hello,
I have one of these routers installed at a remote site. There's only one internet circuit connected to the router (WAN1 interface), so the dual WAN featue is not being used in this case. The internet circuit was recently upgraded from a 2Mb/s SDSL to 4Mb/s SDSL service. I've just found a configuration setting under System Management > Dual WAN, click on 'edit' for the WAN1 interface and there's options to specify the Interfae upstream and Downstream speeds in Kbit/s. They're both configured with vaules of 2048, and I'm wondering if I'm losing any bandwidth because they should be configured as 4096 instead?
In the online help file it says "enter the maximum bandwidth settings as specified by your Internet Service Provider. If the bandwidth exceeds the specified number, then the router uses another WAN interface for the next connection." Seeing as I'm not using the other WAN interface, are these values ignored in my case?
I would hate to think that the internet bandwidth is being throttled to 2Mb/s when we're paying for 4Mb/s!
Thanks!

Hi Oliver,
This option "The Max Bandwidth Provided by ISP" is related to the option Load Balance and its aplicable only if you have 2 WAN connections
" If the bandwidth exceeds the specified number, then the router uses another WAN interface for the next connection." - This means that when you have 2 WAN connections and the option Load Balancing is in place, the router takes into consideration the numbers put for upstream and downstream to calculate how to balance the trafic between the 2 connecions.
In your case as you have only 1 WAN connection, it doesn't make any difference as the trafic cannot be balanced. Also if you are not planing to hae second WAN, better use Smart Link Backup

Even though you're not using the wan for balancing, it won't hurt to have the right settings in there. I forgot that I had the wrong bandwidth numbers in my rv016 and saw some funny load balancing after adding a second wan. I spent a lot of time chasing down the mistake...

Hi Oliver,
This article talks about bandwidth limitations for RV0XX Routers which might provide you some insight to your issue: Bandwidth Limitation for PPTP Users on RV016, RV042, RV042G, and RV082 VPN Routers.
Hope this helps,
