CISCO RV345 Router with NBN modem in bridge mode

I am trying to get our CISCO RV345 Router working with a NBN modem in bridge mode.

1: We have a FTTN NBN connection with a a static IP address. It is an IPoe type connection.
2: We are using a DrayTek167 as the NBN modem and it is in bridge mode.
3: Ethernet cable from Draytek LAN Port is plugged into WAN1 port of the CISCO Router.

In the CISCO WAN settings these are the options:

  • DHCP
  • PPPOE
  • Static
  • L2TP
  • PPTP

CISCO explains each of these here well
https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/assets/sol/sb/isa500_emulator/help/guide/ad1992792.html

I have tried DHCP but that did not work because DHCP is turned off on the NBN modem because it's in bridge mode.

That leaves Static IP so I entered the static IP we were given by our ISP, then 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask and 192.168.15.1 as the Gateway IP of the Draytek NBN modem.

Yet the internet does not work on ay devices connected to the CISCO Router.

Any suggestions?

if the draytek modem's address is only for management, then your router needs another default gateway address.
if the modem must be the default gateway,  your route needs to have an ip-address in the same subnet as the modem
and the static IP given by the ISP needs to  be included in your routers NAT rule as outside address
