I'm planning to use an RV180 for pptp tunnels. I've enabled the pptp service and created some users. However when I'm trying to connect, I get timeouts. It looks like my client can't reach the pptp server on the RV180. There are no firewalls in between. Am I missing something? Do I need to open the firewall on the RV180 for pptp?

Nick,
I had a similar problem when configuring the PPtP users on my RV180w. The trick I found was that I needed to enable the users first before trying to connect. If this is the case, you have in fact enabled the users, and are still having problems connecting please call 1.866.606.1866 and open a support ticket. Hope this helps.

I already enabled all VPN users. I don't get authentication errors (neither on the client side nor in the logs on the router). It seems like the pptp service is not running on the RV180. When trying to connect to TCP port 1723, I get a connection refused, as if the port is not open on the router.
