Hello
We have been using the WAP4410n AP device for a long time, however it has been discontinued and now we have purchased a WAP351 AP which is giving me some troubles trying to configure it the same way I did with the 4410n. It doesnt seem to have WEP encryption suport (however I see WEP options on the user manual) and also Im nota able to get communication when using the Wireless Client/Repeater option. Ive attached 4 images of what Im trying to do with the new model compared to the 4410n. Is that possible or we have switched to the wrong model ?
PID VID: WAP351-E-K9 V01
Firmware version: 1.0.0.39
WAP4410N AP Mode
WAP 351 AP mode? I have associated it with my Main AP but I don't have communication (ping response) to it. Maybe this isn't what I'm looking for. Also my network gets collapsed after some minutes with this connection stablished.
Thanks in Advanced.

Hello
Thank you for the great question. what you are seeing is a result of some recent wireless standards that are being incorporated. The reason you can not see WEP security is because you have 802.11b/g/n selected as the the signal. If you change to 802.11 b/g then you will be able to select WEP as the security type.
I would caution the use of "WEP" since it is a very easily hack encryption and if you want to use the N signal then you will only be able to use WPA Personal or WPA Entreprise.
Hope that this helps you.

Thanks Eric, the WEP issue got solved. I know the security risks of WEP encryption, but the environment of this wireless network allows it without risks.
Now I have to reproduce the same functionality of the AP Mode -> Wireless Client/Repeater within the new model. Is the Workgroup Bridge the correct procedure? The goal is to have the WAP351 connect to other AP's (non Cisco) via Wireless and allow the wired devices connected on the WAP351 access the non Cisco AP.
I did that with no issues with the 4410n model, I only had to configure the same wireless network (same SSID and password) and put the external AP SSID (JUIA in the pictures) in the Client/Repeater section. That allowed me to move the 4410n to many places within the factory connecting to all the non-Cisco AP's on the move (because no MAC address was specified).
Thanks in advanced.

Yes Workgroup Bridge is the way to go on this.
