Public DMZ configuration with RV325 router

Hi,

I would configure a public DMZ with only one server on it.

This server is use to do a proxy and reverseproxy http. We connect the server on the DMZ port.

We affect the IP 192.168.4.2 at the server and 192.168.4.1 at the router.

The network configuration is :

Wan1 :

  • IP : 192.168.0.254
  • NetMask : 255.255.255.0
  • gateway : 192.168.0.1

Lan :

  • IP : 192.168.30.254
  • Netmask : 255.255.255.0

We can access in ssh to the DMZ server from the LAN and wan

The DMZ server can acces to the lan but it can't acces to the wan.

Somebody can send us the correct configuration (Network, gateway, firewall rules .... ) to set a correct DMZ part ?

Thanks you very much for your help

Stéphane

Hello Stéphane,

Thank you for using the Small Business Support Community!

Have you tried using the DMZ Host option? If you can't get the regular DMZ configuration to work, that might do the trick since it's easier to set up. The regular DMZ option needs multiple public IP addresses for each server that uses the DMZ port. Since the DMZ Host option only works with one machine and doesn't need additional IP addresses, this might be better for you.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to post them here and I'll do my best to help you.

Best,

Taylor

Hello slstratt,

I'm interested in learning more about the DMZ host option on the RV325. How does it function as a DMZ without 2 public IP addresses? I'm setting up a Web Application Proxy on server 2012 R2 to publish a couple apps. I'm wondering if it's good enough for my WAP server versus picking up a second static IP address.

Thanks in advance.
