Hello,
I recently got a CISCO RV042G router.
I would like to configure it to offer IP address in the range 172.16.10.1-172.16.20.254 via DHCP.
Is there a way to accomplish this?
When I try configuring a different IP range via the web-based admin interface it shows an error message about only being able to configure an ip range in the range 192.168.1.xxx.
Best Regards,
Gil

Hi Gil,
I apologize for I didn't notice that.
I think it is functional limitations of RV042G that only support C class. I won't be able to do it.

Hi Gil
I think you must be modified on wrong place, you should be edit the device ip on setup→network→device IP address:172.16.10.1/24. After the changes, dhcp pool will change to 172.16.10.100- 149 automatically, then you can modify the dhcp range if you want.

Hi Ami,
Thanks for the reply, what you proposed indeed works.
However, I need to configure the router to have ip: 172.16.1.1 with subnet: 255.255.0.0.
The web ui doesn't seem to allow it as it only allows subnets smaller or equal to 255.255.255.0 (i.e. 255.255.255.0, 255.255.255.128, ...).
Is there a way to configure 172.16.1.1/255.255.0.0?

Hi Ami,
Thanks for the clarification.
Could you recommend the most basic (affordable), similar, CISCO router model that does support B class subnets?

Hi Gil
I had experience of RV series and ISR2811, ASR1000k, the latter two are support class B but more expensive.
I'm not sure if there are any supported models for SMB RV series, u may asking local supplier will be more clearly.

Ami
