Hello Together,

i need a name resolution within my pptp users.

How do I configure the dns settings of a pptp user client.

Dennis,

We don't have a way to configure PPTP to give out certain DNS server for name resolution. You would need to configure the SSL vpn for use with your internal DNS server to resolve names.

do you have many pptp users? you could edit the LMHOST file on each remote PC and add the names/ips in there.

Sorry, not sure if I am understanding what you are looking for?

But you could try the following.

You either need to set up your own DNS serer(s) (or edit LMHOST file as suggested on all computers) or subscirbe to Dynamic DNS service at places like Dyn.com. If you subscribe to the services from example Dyn.com, set up your router to support Dynamic DNS (under Networking).

Subscribing for Dynamic DNS services means that companies like Dyn.com will host a simpleified name server service for you.
