RVS4000 w/android and iPhone

I may have made a bad impulse buy.  I purchased an RSV4000 for the sole reason that I was hoping I could simply set up a vpn user id and password and easily connect my android and iphone to my home network when I am away.  Some of my apps are very dependent on my local ip scheme and dns. After an exhaustive night of reading I have come to learn that the VPN connection requires either a client or another router.   If I am right, I need to buy another router to accomplish this.  Which would be the easiest to set up.  I don't want to rely on my windows or apple servers for the connection I want the router to handle it completely.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Hi John, this probably is not the router for you. I'd recommend something like the RV042 for the PPTP function. This will make your life a bit better.

I would recommend RV042G, which is the gigabit version of RV042. They support 5 PPTP users.
