Please i am having a big challenge licensing my router box which is c1111-8p model. i have the .lic file but since i do not want to downgrade my IOS XE version Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 16.10.01b i am trying to use the smart licensing feature and i am not being successful and i have limited time to hand over project. any help would be appreciated.

Why would anyone want to use 16.10.X is really beyond me, nonetheless, some reading materials: FN - 72323 - Cisco IOS XE Software: QuoVadis Root CA 2 Decommission Might Affect Smart Licensing, Smart Call Home, and Other Functionality
