Hi every body!
I have question about the 100 base-tx distance.
How this distance is measured i.e it is measured from the switch port to the host connected to it?
thanks a lot!

Hi!
Total distance between end points: 100meters.
This limit is from the timing of the ethernet signals on the cable and not necessarily the cable characteristics.
Excluding patch cables, cross connects, etc., shall be 90m. (patch panel to the wall jack with solid cable).
3m for patch cords from the wall jack to PC. These cables can be longer if the total length between the devices does not exceed 100m.
There is no minimal requirements, but as an advise tend to make a cable at least 0.5m long to permit noise attenuation to work.
