1760, 2600XM memory and flash

Hello all, sorry for the silly question I guess my brain is moving slow today. I am having some trouble trying to figure out how to upgrade the routers memory and flash so that I can run the Advance Enterprise image. The 2621XM has 32MB of flash and 96MB of DRAM and the 1760 has 32MB of flash and 64MB of DRAM. In order to run the image the 2600 requires 48MB of flash and 256 MB of DRAM while the 1760 requires 32MB of flash and 160MB of DRAM.

When I open the 2600 router I see that the two DIMM slots and the one SIMM slot are occupied. I figure the memory is straight forward and I will need to get two 128MB DRAM sticks, however I am confused about the flash because it requires 48MB but I can't find a part number for it. Is it that a 16MB stick is installed in the SIMM slot and 16MB is on board and all I will need to do is replace the 16MB in the SIMM slot with a 32MB stick of flash?

As for the 1760, the DIMM and SIMM slots are empty so the flash and DRAM must be on board. I figure I will require 96MB more of DRAM to get me to 160MB however I can't find a part number for this. Is there a part number for this? Can the router support 192MB of DRAM if I install the 128MB stick?

Any comments or links in the right direction would be appreciated.

Not sure if you found the answers in the meantime but here is some information:

2620XM

-DRAM -- as you mentioned, there are 2 slots and we need to add 2 128MB DRAM DIMM to get 256MB

-Flash - we have 16MB flash onboard, so you need an added 32MB flash card

- 32MB Flash/64MB DRAM default/on-board

- Flash upgradable up to 64MB

- DRAM can be upgrade to 160MB max but you need the 128MB DRAM DIMM. In this case, even though you have 192MB, only 160MB will be recognized.

Hi,

For 26xx xms apart from 2691's require a boot rom chip upgrade if you plan to max out the router with flash/dram, Otherwise you will  not see your maximum flash, and not be able to load the advanced ios feature.( if it required 256/48)

on a side note, sometimes to install the advanced features, you may need to install a lower spec ios and upgrade from that.

I found the best for the rom chips are from ebay, in fact you get a full upgrade kit flash/dram/rom chip for a good price.
