I have an 1841 router with software version 12.4.(19a). each time I try to configure DDNS on the router i get the message
option 1 under the fa0/0 WAN interface

option 2: under the dialer 0 interface

both times I see the service as 'not available' and when I run the 'debug ip ddns update' I see no output from the debug nor do I see anything in the show logs. Why would this not even produce an output? or work for that? did I miss something in the configuration or is there something on the ISP side that I've missed.
