1841 with 3G card - what VPN options do I have?

Hello,

I've been given an 1841 with a 3G HWIC card installed to test with.  I need to set up some sort of VPN to our ASA, the problem is though these 3G cards get a random public IP, so what options do I have to create a VPN tunnel from this router to the ASA without the 1841 getting a static public IP?

I'm guessing very little.

Thanks

Your best bet with the equipment you have would be to configure Easy VPN. Here's a link to a configuration example. If you were to put a router at the head end with or without the ASA you could use DMVPN. Both of these options allow dynamic IPs for the remote side, with DMVPN providing the better of the two solutions.

Easy VPN:

You can use ez-vpn, ipsec with dynamic peer, pptp... Router can do anything, you really have to look at what the ASA can do.

Yes, Easy VPN es best option!!!
