Does anyone know if I can config dot1q on an Ethernet port on the above router. I'm trying to set up a couple of VLAN's for testing on an old router we have. I've tried several times only to no avail I keep getting this error

Configuring IP routing on a LAN subinterface is only allowed if that

subinterface is already configured as part of an IEEE 802.10 or ISL vLAN.

Hello Rob,

TMBK, you need IOS 12.2(2)T for 802.1Q support on the built-in 10MB Ethernet interface, or 12.1(5)T for the Fast Ethernet interfaces and modules. Check the following links:
