Hi All,
I'm just wondering if there is any documentation that confirms if the 2 built-in Gigabit ports on a Cisco 2851 router support (or otherwise) auto-mdix.
I can find information for the modules but not the 2 built-in ports.
Many thanks.

Hi
Yes, routers 2821 and 2851 support MDIX on built-in ports.
Routers 2801 and 2811 doesn't.
HTH,
Alex

Many thanks Alex.
Is it correct that if you force either the port speed or duplex then auto-mdix is disabled as a result?

That depends on the platform.
For catalyst switches auto-mdix is disabled when speed and duplex are not auto.
